Fatwa CenterAaminah bint Wahb died at twenty
Question
Assalaamu alaykum. I want to know what the age of Aaminah, the mother of Prophet Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, was when she died?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
Some biographers and historians reported that Aaminah bint Wahb – the mother of our Prophet – died while she was only approximately twenty years old.
The book Musta’athab Al-Ikhbaar bi Atyab Al-Akhbaar, authored by Al-Faasi reads, “His [Prophet’s] mother died while she was nearly twenty years old while returning from Al-Madeenah, [she died] in Al-Abwaa’ which is a place between Makkah and Madeenah.”
As regards his father, ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abdul Muttalib, he died at the age of twenty-five years old. Al-Waaqidi 
said, “This is the most confirmed view regarding the death of ‘Abdullah [father of the Prophet], as stated in At-Tabaqaat, which was authored by Ibn Sa’d.”
