Question
What is the ruling on playing a game called "The Making Of A Prophet"? For more info, it is about Prophet Mohammed's life. I do not know if they made it wrong or correct; they made a character called Prophet Mohammed with his face and body and everything, but they did not put everything correctly. So what is the ruling on playing that game?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
This game and the like are a great crime against the status of the Prophet and it is a degradation to his rank.
The scholars prohibited portraying the Prophet and other Prophets in general.
Shaykh Jaad Al-Haqq, the former Grand Shaykh of Al-Azhar, said after determining the prohibition of portraying the Prophets:
“I call upon those responsible for culture in the theaters to reconsider their stories drawn from the Quran or the noble biography of the Prophet and remove anything from them that constitutes a portrayal of any Prophet, or their wives, or their sons, or their fathers and mothers, or one of their companions. If the benefit was in bringing these stories as a representation and portrayal for the people, then the disadvantage in the embodiment of the Prophet, or one of those closest to him, is a great disadvantage, and it is a great danger. There is no doubt that warding off evil takes precedence over bringing forth benefit, as has been stipulated in the honorable rules of the Sharia.”
This is in addition to making the person of the Prophet a character to play with, which is a great crime.
Based on what we have mentioned, it is not permissible to play this game or to promote it.
