Question
Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu, Shaykh. Is it sinful, wrong, or disliked if I arrange with a tent company (who also arranges dance floors and maybe arranges events that are Islamically wrong) to make a tent or portacabin at my house?And how about another company who makes dance floors and as well arranges magic shows or events that are Islamically wrong? Please advice, Shaykh. May Allaah reward you.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
There is no harm on you - Allah Willing - in having this company install a tent in your house. The fact that this company does some Islamically wrong activities does not prevent you from dealing with it in lawful activities. If you are asking about choosing between the two companies, then you should choose the one with the lesser evil; i.e. the company whose activities involve lesser Sharia violations. If you could find a company whose activities are void of any Sharia violations, you should choose it, as its owners are worthier of support.
