Fatwa CenterSupplicating Allah for new teeth
Question
I am 32 years old. The majority of my teeth are broken and worse. My question is: can I supplicate for new teeth from Allaah? Is that permissible?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
The (supplication) which you mentioned is not allowed as it is considered a form of transgression in supplication because your wish defies the divine norms decreed by Allah, The Exalted, and this is a blameworthy transgression in supplication. However, you should know that the matter is simple – praise be to Allah – as you can consult specialized dentists, and you will find with them – Allah willing – a solution for this problem by installing dental implants or the like.
You should be patient and endure the calamities that befall you; verily, there is much good in having patience with what you dislike.
