Question
Assalaamu alaykum. There is a game which has been known to contain Shirk (polytheism) as well as religions other than Islam. However, the cartoon is not based on these religions, it just contains characters who are part of these religions, such as Christianity, and the main plot is for these humans to battle monsters. Now, I would like to create stories and games, and my stories would involve the influence of humans fighting monsters in this cartoon; everything like the game does it, but instead of these fake religions, I would add Muslim characters who fight these monsters; and the storyline is exactly the same without any of the Shirk from the original story. Would this still be an act of Kufr (disbelief) given that I got the idea from a game which contains these elements of Shirk and Kufr beliefs? Note that I will not add these in; I simply have taken ideas from the film without adding the bits of Kufr. Also, is it Shirk/Kufr to add characters who are non-Muslims to my story?

All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
There is apparently nothing to entail forbidding or prohibiting the mere use of the idea of a game which contains Shariah violations to make a new game that is free of such Shariah violations as long as the new game or story is free from what contradicts the sound Islamic creed, such as the manifestations of Kufr and Shirk, indecent images that are sexually arousing, imitation of prohibited deeds, and the like of Shariah violations.
