Fatwa CenterIt is better not to say such things about the people of Paradise
Question
I have learned much about the bliss in Paradise which no eyes have ever seen, no ears have ever heard of and no heart has ever conceived, but I know that the greater pleasure is seeing the Face of Allaah The Almighty.
My question is: Should we not overlook our lusts in Paradise and that it should only be for seeing Allaah The Almighty, not for eating the best fruits, marrying women and the Hoor (Maidens) as well as other things which satisfy human desires in this worldly life?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alyhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
Based on evidence from the Quran and the Sunnah, the people of Paradise will enjoy the aforementioned aspects of bliss. Allaah The Almighty has preordained that such things are prepared as bliss for the dwellers of Paradise. On the other hand, Allaah has made it a part of human nature to love such things as eating, clothing, and drink and has therefore made them a reward for the humans in His Paradise and abode of honoring. Allaah The Almighty Says (what mean):
· {And you will have therein whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you request [or wish]} [Quran 41:31]
· {And therein is whatever the souls desire and [what] delights the eyes, and you will abide therein eternally.} [Quran 43:71]
Although seeing Allaah The Almighty will be the most beloved matter to the people of Paradise, it will not be available at all times. Anas 
narrated that the Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam , asked Jibreel (Gabriel) 
: “What is Yawm Al-Mazeed (the day of abundance)?” Jibreel replied, “Allaah has created a vast valley in Paradise and created in it dunes of white musk. Allaah descends in this valley every Friday and there will be placed golden pulpits for the Prophets and chairs of pearls for the martyrs and the Hoor descend from their chambers (and all) will praise Allaah and exalt Him.” [At-Tabaraani in Al-Awsat and Abu Ya‘alla in his Musnad]
If we reflect on the guidance of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, we find that the comfort of his heart and the delight of his eyes was in worshipping Allaah The Almighty. Nevertheless, this did not prevent him from enjoying the pleasures of this worldly life. Anas narrated that the Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “Women and perfume are endeared to me from this world, and the delight of my eye lies in performing prayer.” [Ahmad and An-Nasaa’i]
This does not mean that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, did not exalt himself beyond his desires and dedicate himself only for the delight of his eye and the comfort of his heart in worshipping Allaah The Almighty. If this is not appropriate to say so with regards to this world which is the abode of obligation, then it is worthier not to say it about the dwellers of Paradise because thet is the abode of reward.
In conclusion, we warn that a Muslim should avoid thinking of such matters, focus on what is beneficial for him in the worldly life and the Hereafter and ask about that which would render his deeds acceptable.
