Fatwa CenterEmbarrassed by Her Thick Eyebrows
Question
Alsalam Alaikum,i want to ask if it is not haram to remove additional eyebrows hair. i do sometimes get jokes about my thick eyebrows and it really hurts. i don’t want to shape it, just to clean it. thank you
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
The view that we adopt regarding trimming eyebrows is that if they are too thick, to the extent that they are beyond what is normal, and it deforms the appearance, then in this case it is permissible to trim them to the extent that removes the deformity; otherwise, it is not permissible.
Ibn ‘Uthaymeen 
said:
"The eyebrows are usually thin and narrow, or thick and wide; this is common. Therefore, one should not touch what is common because people do not consider it a defect. Rather, having normal (narrow thin or wide thick) eyebrows is considered to be a sign of beauty. Therefore, they are not among the matters that are considered a defect so that a person needs to remove them." [End of quote]
