What does Islam say about paraphilia (sexual perversion or sexual deviation) ? For example, from childhood (may be from age 7 or 8) a person may be attracted to particular body parts of girls, and wants to touch them, and now he has become a youth and gets sexual aroused when he sees videos of girls gagged with cloth or tape. He was doing masturbation from the age of 8 or 9 , and he now he wants to get married, but because he does not have any job and currently studying he cannot marry. He almost fasts every week, but falls into haram deeds. Also, please tell how to get cure from paraphilia (sexual deviation or sexual perversion) from an Islamic point of view .Western psychology is talking about this things, I want to learn it from an Islamic point of view.
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
We have not come across any statement of former or contemporary scholars about paraphilia. Nonetheless, it is a kind of sexual perversion, and it is one of the strangest of the types of perversion because it causes excitement by things that are not normally a method of excitement.
The cure for this, and other perversions, can be attained thorough the following:
1- Fearing Allah and being conscious that He is watching us in secret and in public, and fearing to stand in front of Him for account.
2- Fearing that this feeling would lead to what is greater than it, like committing immorality. This could be a door from where the devil enters to people and beautifies evil for them, and progressively leads them to destruction while they are heedless. It is for this reason that Allah warned us against his evil plot. Allah Says (what means): {O you who have believed, do not follow the footsteps of Satan. And whoever follows the footsteps of Satan - indeed, he enjoins immorality and wrongdoing. And if not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy, not one of you would have been pure, ever, but Allah purifies whom He wills, and Allah is Hearing and Knowing.} [Quran 24:21]
3- Fearing a bad end to one’s life.
4- Being honest with Allah and having a strong determination in seeking treatment. If a person is sincere to Allah, Allah will help him achieve whatever he wants. Allah Says (what means): {…if they had been true to Allah, it would have been better for them.} [Quran 47:21]
5- Marriage as it helps keeping one’s chastity and purity. Allah Says (what means): {And marry the unmarried among you and the righteous among your male slaves and female slaves. If they should be poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty, and Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.} [Quran: 24:32] If marriage is not facilitated for a person, then he should seek other reasons that would help him maintain his chastity. Allah Says (what means): {But let them who find not [the means for] marriage abstain [from sexual relations] until Allah enriches them from His bounty.} [Quran: 24:33]
One of the most important of these reasons is fasting. Abdullah ibn Mas’ood narrated that the Prophet said: "O young men, whoever is able to marry should marry as it helps him lower his gaze and protect his private parts (from committing illegal sexual intercourse), and whoever is not able to marry, he should fast, as fasting diminishes his sexual desires." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
Also, one should stay away from everything that incites one’s desires and arouses him, like abundantly looking at what is forbidden, staying in seclusion with non-Mahram women, forbidden mixing and the like.
Allah knows best.
