Does impure meat invalidate the acts of worship?

Question

Assalamu Alikum, I have a question regarding Non-halal meat. I live in Norway and my family do not bring halal meat, they bring it from the local store, which all I’m pretty their meat is impure, by the meaning of it not being slaughtered in the sharia way also when I go out with friends we eat from restaurants in which have the same type of meat. I newly learned that impure meat invalidates the acts of worship so, is my prayer accepted, is my fast accepted and is my dua accepted, and if not, does every prayer I prayed and dua I did invalid even the ones I did before knowing that they do this?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

As long as you are certain, as you mentioned, that the meat is impermissible, it is not permissible for you to consume it because it is an impure dead animal. As for the effect of consuming it on the prayers and the fasting, the impurity within the worshiper's stomach does not affect the validity of worship. Al-Waseet fi al-Madh'hab of Al-Ghazali reads: “If someone drinks wine and washes his mouth, his prayer is valid because what is in the stomach has no ruling.” However, acceptance or rejection of this is known only by Allah the Almighty.

Allah knows best.
