Question
Is it permissible for a Muslim man to wear a silver ring in one ear? I live in America where its common to see men with earrings and people will not think I am imitating women by wearing a ring.
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the World; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
It is not permissible for men to wear a silver/metal ring in ears, since such an act is suitable for women. Also, it is a form of imitating women; consequently, it is banned in Shari'a. In addition, such an act is normally done by non-Muslim men; we are prevented from imitating them, in their clothes or appearance.
In other words, a Muslim must have a distinguished character.
