Question
What is a good day and time for conducting Nikah?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the World; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
Some Muslim scholars state that it is likeable to make Nikah contract on Friday. The Hanafi and Hambali scholars are of this opinion. The Hambali scholars prefer the afternoon of this day to the other parts of it. They said: 'This is a noble day and a feast and Baraka (blessing) is required in Nikah (marriage)' .
So, it is likeable to do it in the holiest day requiring this Baraka (blessing). Doing it in the afternoon because there is an hour in the afternoon of Friday in which supplications are answered.
Ibn Qudamah states in al-Mughni, 'that a group of Salaf are of this opinion, i.e. it is likeable to make Nikah on Friday. He named Dumrata Ibn Habib - Rashid Ibn Saad and Habib Ibn Utba ' .
