Question
Is rotating the meat or money around one's head seven times and giving it in charity or feeding Bid'ah?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
The Muslim should be very keen on following the Sunnah and avoiding Bid'ah (innovations) and myths. One innovation is mentioned in the question. This is nonsense as it was neither reported from the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) nor his companions or their rightly-guided successors. Since this is the case, nobody should do so as the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: "Whoever introduces in this faith of us that which is not part of it, it is to be rejected" [Reported by Imams al-Bukhari and Muslim ].
