Assertions about the prophethood of Prophet Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam

Question

If Mohammad was a prophet of God, why did God not give him a male child (inheritance) that all other prophets/Godly men in the Bible received from God? Does this mean that he was not a prophet from God? What does prophet mean? It means a prophet should predict what is going to happen to the world or to the people in the future. We cannot call a man who has re-written something which was already happened a prophet. In this sense, Mohammad was not a prophet from God?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

Everyone who is just and free of whims believes that Muhammad, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ), is the last Prophet of Allaah The Almighty. His numerous miracles demonstrate his prophethood. The everlasting miracle, the Holy Quran is sufficient, since no one except an arrogant person can deny the miraculous aspects of the Quran: its contents and language, news of the ancient and prophecies of the future, masterful rulings and lofty morals, guidance and blessings. Allaah The Exalted challenged the Arabs in their eloquence and purity of language to make a similar book or even ten Chapters or one Chapter, but they failed. Thus, truthfulness, the authenticity and credibility of the Quran becomes clear and even no one can challenge until the Day of Judgement.

The Quran produces the most reliable and credible proof for the authenticity and credibility of the Prophethood of Muhammad, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ). Besides, there are other miracles of the Prophet, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ).

Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {And if you (Arab pagans, Jews, and Christians) are in doubt concerning that which We have sent down (i.e. the Quran) to Our slave (Muhammad), then produce a Soorah (chapter) of the like thereof and call your witnesses (supporters and helpers) besides Allaah, if you are truthful. But if you do it not, and you can never do it, then fear the Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers.} [Quran, 2:23, 24]

Then, we have to tell the Jews and Christians that if you deny the prophethood of Muhammad, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ), then there will be no other source from which you can recognize the truthfulness of other Prophets. Proofs and miracles that demonstrate the authenticity of the prophethood of Muhammad, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ), are more numerous and stronger than the proofs and miracles of Moosa (Moses) and 'Eesa (Jesus), may Allaah exalt their mention.

As for the question concerning the male children of Prophet Muhammad, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ), we state that it is not an indication of prophethood to have a male child although Allaah The Exalted, granted Muhammad, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ), three sons: Al-Qaasim, Al-Tayyib and Ibraaheem. However, they died when they were young, and the Prophet, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) showed exemplary patience towards distress and calamity.

You made a big mistake when you denied that the Prophet, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ), did not foretell the future. The source which you seem to rely upon contains information about past incidents, such as the sin of Aadam (Adam) may Allaah exalt his mention the flood of Nooh may Allaah exalt his mention and the stories of the Prophets Ibraaheem, Is-haaq, Yaaqoob, may Allaah exalt their mention, and Al-Asbaat (tribes of Israelites) and the Prophet Loot may Allaah exalt his mention. However, such books include distortions and false stories about the prophets, the chosen ones of Allaah The Almighty from among humankind.

In addition, the Prophet Muhammad, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ), foretold many things about the future such as the defeat of the Persians by Romans, his victory in the Battle of Badr before it took place, taking possession of the treasures of Caesar and Khosrau and so on.
