My uncle just passed away about 2 weeks ago. I went out and printed some verses from the Qur'an and distributed them around mosques. Would my uncle be rewarded for such Sadakha even if it was out of my pocket, not his?
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
According to the most preponderant opinion of the scholars, the reward of good deeds reach the dead person if one intends them for him. But it is preferable to supplicate Allah to forgive and have mercy on the dead, or to do something that will benefit him, such as printing some copies of the Quran for free distribution.
As for printing verses on papers, it might not be so useful, or it might fall to the ground and be disrespected.

Allah knows best.
