Question
I am very disturbed due to some thoughts about divorce. I am still not married but unworthy insinuations about divorce come to my mind. Please tell me what to do. Tell me in detail whether divorce can be done in presence of Satanic whispers like this, my mind compels me to revise words about divorce again and again? Please help your Muslim brother who is in great trouble. Please give a detailed answer. If you have any Fatwa in this regard, also mention that. I want to be near my beloved Allah and Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam).
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. Do not trouble yourself with these insinuations and the best remedy is to occupy your mind in that which is beneficial. On the other hand, know that divorce does not become effective by mere thoughts and it cannot be done on a woman who is not a wife.
