Please let me about the permissibility of using good luck charms.
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. Sorcery must never be approached for any intention, whether good or bad. Being among the most serious and destructive sins, it must not be learned, taught, or practiced, for the Prophet (Salla Allahu Alaihi Wa sallam) forbade that and strictly warned against it. He threatened those who practice it with apostasy. On the other hand, whatever Allah Almighty decrees for people, whether good or otherwise, can by no means be changed by sorcery or other things. This matter should be part and parcel of the Muslim's unshaken belief and among the unchangeable basics and principles. It was authentically verified that man's work, sustenance, life-span, his being happy or wretched are all determined by Allah Almighty since he (man) was a mere embryo in his mother's womb. It was narrated in the Sahihain on the authority of Ibn Mas'oud (may Allah pleased with him) who had said: 'The messenger of Allah, who is truthful and trustworthy, said: The way that each of you is created is that you are gathered in your mother's womb for forty days as a sperm drop, and then for a similar length of time as a blood clot, and then for a similar length of time as a lump of flesh. Then an angel is sent and he breathes the spirit into you and is charged with four commands: to write down your provision, your life-span, your actions, and whether you will be wretched or happy'. [Reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim ] Allah knows best.
