Question
I'm in love with a nice Jewish boy. What should I do about it? Should I take all his gold and silver and give it to Allah?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
First of all know that the relationship between the male and the female alien to him is not legal in Islam except under the umbrella of a valid marriage. Any relation beyond that is sinful especially if this relation is with a disbeliever who is an enemy of Allah and of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {You (O Muhammad SAW) will not find any people who believe in Allâh and the Last Day, making friendship with those who oppose Allâh and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW), even though they were their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred (people). For such He has written Faith in their hearts, and strengthened them with Rûh (proofs, light and true guidance) from Himself…..}[58:22]. Allah also Says (interpretation of meaning): {O you who believe! Take not My enemies and your enemies (i.e. disbelievers and polytheists, etc.) as friends, showing affection towards them, while they have disbelieved in what has come to you of the truth (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism, this Qur'ân, and Muhammad SAW), ….}[60:1]. So, we wonder how you could have any affection for a disbeliever, an enemy of Allah and of His Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) no matter how handsome or rich he is … etc.? The love to such a dissolute person cannot be in a heart where there is true Muslim faith. So, you are facing a great danger. Now, you should immediately repent to Allah and sever this illicit relation. Do not take any gold or money from this man even if he gives you the treasures of this world that will not compensate the loss of Iman (faith). If you give all that he presents you in charity it will not be accepted. This is because what he has given you is a bad price for a sinful relation.
