Question
Is it permissible to work in movie theaters printing for cinema papers, etc.?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
It is unlawful to work for the cinema in printing or else because of its corrupt and dissolute films that contain what angers Allah. Most films are based on lies and show naked or semi-naked people who intermix (males and females). Some of these films even contain Kufr (disbelief). So, whoever works in the cinema industry or film projection may well commit very dangerous sins because of his cooperation with such dissolute people. Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {…Help you one another in Al-Birr and At-Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression….}[5:2].
