My boyfriend is from UAE and I am English. Is he allowed to marry me?
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
The questioner should know that when a non-Muslim meets his Lord, he will be totally in loss, Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {And whoever seeks a religion other than Islâm, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.}[3:85]. And whoever embraces Islam being from another religion, then Allah will reward him, and he will be secure from the punishment of Allah on the Day of Judgement.
Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {Say to those who have disbelieved, if they cease (from disbelief) their past will be forgiven….}[8:38].
So embrace Islam to win this great success. Do not let your father or mother or anybody else take this favour away from you. None of them could be of any help for you on the Day of Judgement, rather they will renounce and deny you.
In response to your question, a Muslim man is not allowed to marry a non-Muslim woman except with the following conditions:
1) She should be a woman of the People of the Book, either a Christian or a Jew, practising one of these religions and believing in it.
2) She has to be chaste.
3) There should be no fear of an affliction of the religion and conduct of the husband in getting married to her.
4) The marriage has to fulfill the following conditions and pillars; like the guardian, the witnesses, the Mahr, and the agreement between the two parties. If one of these requirements is not fulfilled, then the man should not get married with her.
It should be mentioned as well, that a man is not allowed to get married with a woman, while his parents or one of them are objecting to such marriage.
Allah knows best.
