1) I have heard the virtues of reciting the following Surahs: Yasin, Al-Baqarah, Al-'Imran, Al- Mulk, As-Sajdah, Ad-Dukhan, Al-Fatihah, Al-Waqiah, Ar-Rahman, Al-Muzzammil, and the last three Surahs, as well as 'Ayat-ul-Kursi.' Please tell me other Surahs with the virtues so that I may recite them and tell others. 2) Do you have to say the Iqamah when making Salah alone and do you have to say the Qirat loudly or quietly?
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
1) Know, dear brother, that you get reward for every letter you recite of the Qur'an and the reward is multiplied by ten. See Fatwa: 84480. So, keep on reciting the Qur'an as a whole and applying its rules. If you cannot do that, then memorize as much as you can.
Know also that there are some authentic Hadith about the virtues of certain Surah. But there are other Ahadith that specify certain virtues of every Surah of the Qur'an.
But they are weak or fabricated. So, you should not rely on them.
For more details on this subject, please read ‘Fadail (virtues) of the Qur'an’ written by Al Nasa’e.
2) It is likable for the person who prays alone to call Azan and Iqamah loudly because of the great virtues of Azan as it is among acts of remembrance of Allah.
In Musnad Abu Ya’ala it is reported in an authentic Hadith that Al Ja’ad Ibn Abi Uthman said: 'Anas Ibn Malik went past us in Bani Tha’alaba’s mosque he said: ‘Have you prayed’. He said: ‘We replied: 'Yes'’. Then he (Anas) ordered a man who called Azan, then called Iqamah and he (Anas) led his companions in prayer. It was the Fajr prayer'.
Ibn Qudamah said: 'It is more desirable that he (the person who is alone) calls Azan quietly to avoid causing confusion to people by calling Azan a second time'.
But if the person prays in a countryside like the shepherd or the traveler, then it is likable for him to call Azan and Iqamah. This is the opinion of the majority of scholars according to Ibn Qudamah.
Ibn Abd Al Barr said: 'It is a consensus among the scholars that the traveler is praised and rewarded for calling Azan'.
Allah knows best.
