Question
1. I would like to know if anything significant happened in the months of Dhul-Qa’dah and Dhul-Hijjah in the time of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam).
2. What is your opinion regarding the earthquake in Iran? Is it a test or warning from Allah? I look forward to hearing from you.
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
Many incidents took place during the month of Dhul-Qa’da at the time of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam). Among these incidents is the battle of Bani Quraidha, and the battle of Hudaybia.
Other incidents happened during the month of Dhul-Hijjah among which are: first and second pledge of Al Aqaba, and the battle of Assuwaiq.
With regards the earthquakes that happen at any time, they are a punishment of Allah to some people and a warning to others so that they would repent and be frightened.
Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {….And We sent not the signs except to warn, and to make them afraid (of destruction).}[17:59].
We draw the attention of the questioner to the fact that the Fatwa Centre is concerned mainly with answering questions about actions of worship and about dealings between people or between themselves and their Creator.
