Question
What are the books of Imaam Abu Haneefah that are available now? Is Al-Fiqh Al-Akbar attributed to him is authentic?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
We do not know that Abu Haneefah 
has edited a book by himself. The book 'Al-Fiqh Al-Akbar' is attributed to him and his student Abu Mutee' Ibn 'Abdullaah, may Allaah be pleased with him, narrates it from him, but he is weak in narrations. The book 'Musnad Abu Haneefah' is edited by Abu Nu'aym Ahmad Ibn 'Abdullaah Al-Asbahaani, who died on 430 A.H. but it is not edited by Abu Haneefah. However, Abu Haneefah has left a vast Fiqh which was transmitted by his students, and it was widespread all over the world. Then the scholars compiled his work and edited it into small and large books.
