Question
What is the ruling on a Muslim who insults religion and insults Allaah? Will Allaah accept his repentance?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
Whoever insults religion, or insults Allaah or His Prophet 
is a non-Muslim and an apostate. However, if he sincerely repents from this and seeks forgiveness, and performs good deeds, then we ask Allaah to accept his repentance; otherwise he is in a very serious situation. Anyway, it is only a stubborn hard-hearted person who is overcome by negligence who would dare do this act, and who does not fear Allaah and does not respects His Limits. Allaah’s Punishment on this kind of stubborn people is known [very severe]; we seek refuge in Allaah from this.
