Question
is it haram for my second wife inshallah 2 b my first wifes cusin. bint amha?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
It is permissible, Allaah willing, for a man to marry his wife's cousin as a second wife provided there are no marriage impediments, like a suckling relationship and the like.
Being the cousin of the wife does not make her forbidden for him to marry. For more benefit on the women whom we are not allowed to marry, please refer to Fatwa 85868, and for more benefit on marrying more than one wife, please refer to Fataawa 91137, 90567, 89883 and 83644.
