Vow and Udh-Hiyyah are two independent acts of worship
I intended to feed some of the poor, the needy, and the orphans. Does the Udh-Hiyyah ('Eed sacrificial animal) that I offered and distributed replace my vow?

Implicit wording along with intention renders a vow valid and binding
If a person said, "If I possess such-and-such piece of land, I will build a mosque on it," but when he possessed it, he became in need of the price of the mosque. Is he obliged to build the mosque on that piece of land or can he cancel his intention?

Ruling on vowing to slaughter a bullock, but slaughtered a camel instead
I made a vow that I would slaughter a bullock if a certain thing happened. When that thing actually happened, my father, who took care of the fulfillment of the vow, slaughtered a young camel instead. Has my vow been fulfilled or am I still obliged to fulfill it?

Vows not to do something, then realizes it is a religious innovation after doing it
A person made a vow that he would do a certain action if he did a certain practice that is, in fact, a religious innovation, but he mistakenly believed it to be a righteous act that would bring him closer to Allah, the Exalted. After doing that act, he came to know that it is a religious innovation. Should he still fulfill his vow?

Vowed to fast ten successive years; how can she do so?
I made a vow to Allah, the Exalted, that I would fast ten consecutive years if a certain thing happened. I have heard a hadith that reads, "He who observes perpetual fast does not fast at all." Is my vow included in this kind of fasting referred to in the hadith? Should I still fulfill my vow?

Vows not to eat or drink until he gives up masturbation
I am studying in USA, and I made a vow that if I ever masturbate again, I will abstain from eating and drinking for three days and nights. I consulted some scholars here regarding my case; some advised me to offer expiation if I am unable to fulfill my vow. What is your opinion in this regard?

Obligatory to fulfill a vow that is conditional on owning something
I joined a contest and took a vow that if I won, I would donate the money of the prize to Palestine. I won the contest, but the circumstances changed, and I needed that money. Is it permissible for me to offer expiation for breaking that vow and take the money. Is it incumbent upon me to donate the money? If I take the money, would it be unlawful?

Vowed to offer something in a certain place seeking closeness to Allaah, but became unable to go there

Necessary to fulfill a vow of giving a child religious education

Vows to offer something to a mosque then changes it to what is more beneficial
I made a vow to buy a chandelier for a mosque with a certain sum of money. Is it permissible to donate that money to the mosque-affiliated clinic as it needs beds and medical equipment? Can I donate that money or some of it to another mosque that needs maintenance and depends on donations and individual efforts?
