Question
Dear Scholar whats the ruling on chewing niswar and pan ?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
It is not permissible for a Muslim to use things that are harmful to him as the Prophet said: ''There should be no harm and no reciprocal harm.’’ [Maalik]
Therefore, it is not permissible to chew niswar because of the harm that it causes to the person who chews it. It causes ulceration and sloughing of the mouth. It may also cause mouth cancer as stated by the specialists in the field, and if it is confirmed that the pan is harmful, so it is also not permissible.
