A woman charmed a man in order to make him commit adultery with her and then marry her. His condition has become very bad and his first wife has advised him to stay away from this woman, but in vain. Ultimately, she was forced to go to some magicians [seeking a solution]. What is your viewpoint on this issue and what is the solution?
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We implore Allaah The Almighty to alleviate your distress and worry and help this man recover and advise you to resort to Allaah The Almighty and earnestly supplicate to Him. In turn, Allaah, The Almighty promises to answer the supplication of the desperate. He, the Almighty, Says (what means): {Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is there a deity with Allaah?} [Quran 27:62] It would also be a good thing if you found a righteous man who abides by the Sunnah in order to apply the Sharee'ah Ruqyah (Quranic treatment) to the patient. At the same time, it should be noted that it is not permissible to seek the help of magicians or soothsayers. The Prophet , said that "whoever goes to a soothsayer or a diviner and believes in what he says will be considered to have disbelieved in what was sent to Muhammad ." [Ahmad & Al-Haakim] In another Hadeeth, the Prophet said that "whoever goes to a diviner to ask him about anything, his prayers will not be accepted for forty nights". [Muslim] Therefore, you should continue giving him advice, directing him to righteousness and informing him that no affliction occurs except due to a sin and that it will only be removed with repentance. Therefore, the patient has to improve his relation with Allaah The Almighty in order for Him to improve his condition and protect him from the evil of His creatures. Allaah Knows best.
