One day I woke up early and found that the feet of three of my daughters were dyed with henna, knowing that no one from my family had done this to them. I do not know where this henna came from. What should I do?
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.
We advise you to fear Allaah and perform your prayers at their fixed and prescribed times. You must also read chapter Al-Baqarah (the 2nd chapter of Quran) in your house if you fear that the henna you found on your daughters' feet was put there by Jinn. This is because devils do not approach a house where chapter Al-Baqarah is being recited.
Secondly, you must observe the morning and evening legislated mention of Allaah and teach them to your daughters so they can recite them regularly. Indeed, a person who recites them, Allaah will guard him against every feared evil and devils will not approach them. You can find this legislated mention of Allaah in many booklets.
Additionally, observe the legislated mention of Allaah said upon entering or leaving the house, before sleeping, when eating food, upon entering bathrooms etc. There is much benefit in reciting these legislated mention of Allaah since reciting them is an act of worship, mentioning Allaah and supplicating Him, and a shield against anything a person fears. Allaah Says (what means):
If you keep reciting them, your heart will be assured and your soul will be enlightened. Allaah Says (what means): {Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allaah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allaah hearts are assured."}[Quran 13:60]
Perhaps some of your relatives or neighbors are the source of this henna, they may have put it on to joke with you guys. Anyway, do not worry at all, since you have the means, which we have outlined, to protect yourself against any harm.
