Fatwa CenterA superstition about itching in the right hand
Question
Assalamu alaikum.I know there is five keys of the unseen.Here I want to share some strange story and ask question too.This story is about my mother.She has some strange ability…Before she earn something good (money or anything),she ussualy will get a sign,her right hand will become itchy.,this event is happened long time ago until now. I am so strict about unseen issue,so I have made analysis. From my analysis,I found that the event happened not coincidencely.When the sign coming(her right hand itchy),ussualy it will end with her earn or receive good things.Good things usually come from money,or someone give her something useful..My mother do not know what or when she will earn something but when she got the signs,ussualy there will be a result.MY QUESTION is what is the explanation of this event? I do not know any logic explanation behind this event,so I optimist that my mother ability come from Allah,to help her.My mother also have strong intuition.He cannot predict future,but she can feel when something is wrong.That feel come randomly,ussualy when needed and not from her desire.. I belive one of the reasons of my mother ability because her heart.From child until now she always become victim of fitna because many people envy her.When people fitna her,she usually respond with cry and complain the problem to Allah.Thanks

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
Such a feeling, i.e. a person feeling that some good will happen to him when he feels itchy in his right hand, is one of the wide-spread matters in some Muslim countries. However, this matter is closer to illusion and superstition than to anything else. So, such a matter is false and totally unfounded. Indeed, it is not permissible for a Muslim to believe that something is a reason unless the Sharee’ah has made it a reason. For more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 91008.
The fact that your mother gets money and the like when she feels itchy may be pure coincidence without this itchiness being a reason for the occurrence of any desirable or disliked matter.
