No contradiction or inconsistency in the universe

Question

As the universe is based on contradictions: black is necessarily in return for white and evil is in return for good etc., what is my guilt in being considered an evil person who’s existence is necessity in return for another good person, that is, that all of this is pre-destined for us?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

Your claim that the universe is based upon contradictions is incorrect. Allaah the Almighty based this universe on integrity, truth and justice, and this is understood by every sane person. Allaah the Almighty Says (what means): {And Allaah created the heavens and earth in truth and so that every soul may be recompensed for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged.} [Quran 45:22]

If you ponder upon the universe you will find this clear in everything: for example, day and night integrate to form a complete day - the night for rest and the day for work. Also, Allaah the Almighty created white, black and other colors so that they integrate: the black color has benefits that are not in white and vice versa. Allaah the Almighty has created goodness and good people and wrongdoing and evil people so that the tests and trials of life are complete. Allaah the Almighty made rivers complementary to fruits and trees: the latter can not exist without the former. Allaah the Almighty created the earth and created the surrounding planets to keep balance and movement through gravity. Allaah the Almighty created the sun for light and as a reason for the continuity of life on earth: plants cannot grow without the rays of the sun, and without plants man and animals cannot survive. Had any of these malfunctioned, many grave consequences known only to Allaah the Creator would have followed.

Allaah the Almighty reminds us of some of these signs when He Says (what means):

{Say, "Have you considered: if Allaah should make for you the night continuous until the Day of Resurrection, what deity other than Allaah could bring you light? Then will you not hear?" Say, "Have you considered: if Allaah should make for you the day continuous until the Day of Resurrection, what deity other than Allaah could bring you a night in which you may rest? Then will you not see?" And out of His mercy He made for you the night and the day that you may rest therein and [by day] seek from His bounty and [that] perhaps you will be grateful.} [Quran 28:71-73]

As for taking destiny as proof and a justification, you would be the first to reject this because if someone kicked, slapped or beat you, you would defend yourself and would not say that the person who did so is worthy of pity because Allaah the Almighty had destined for him to beat you! This is because you realize inside yourself that he has a will, power and free choice. This is the same in religion: no one has prevented you from guidance, goodness, memorizing the Quran, going to the mosque, having good morals, abandoning bad ones and so on.

Allaah Knows best.
