Question
Does a delayed pregnancy without a medical reason indicate the effects of a magic spell? Is it permissible to seek the help of a specialist to undo the spell?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
There is no objection to seeking the help of a righteous specialist to help undo such a spell, but it is not permitted to seek the help of a sorcerer or a charlatan who uses prohibited means to undo magic spells.
Many couples have children after a long period of marriage without any medical reason or the effect of a magic spell. Allaah, the Provider, the Generous, the Giver of blessings and the Bountiful, endows them with children. So, delayed pregnancy should not worry you, since the whole matter is arranged by the Wisdom of Allaah, the Almighty.
Beware of surrendering to the delusion of magic and protect yourselves by remembering and mentioning Allaah the Almighty. Also, seek the forgiveness of Allaah man times, since this makes Allaah provide for you generously and grant you children. Allaah the Almighty Says (what means): {And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers. And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers.} [Quran 71:10-12]
