Question
My mother has strange symptoms as long as she is at home, but when she moves to another place she becomes alright. Doctors cannot explain this or find any reason for it. Is she bewitched?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
These symptoms may be because of a physiological disorder that doctors could not diagnose. They could also be due to possession or a spell. It is permissible to take her to a righteous therapist who uses the Quran for treatment.
However, you should not be deceived by imposters who claim to treat using the Quran, while they are, in actual fact, sorcerers. Therefore, you should be careful.
