Question
Assalam-o-Aliekom! Please could you provide me the details regarding the subject that our deeds (whether good or bad) are created and more broadly that the all the movements on the earth is created. This I would like you to clarify to me evidentialy from The Quran and Hadiths. Moreover, kindly provide some explanations pertaining to the subject by eminent classical scholars who might have delt with the subject. Thank you! May Allah reward you.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
Allaah, The Exalted, is the Master of the universe and the Creator of all beings. The whole universe is subject to His dominion and will. The whole creation submissively submits to His decree; every motion and stillness that occurs in the universe is created by Him. He has created all our deeds and actions, the good and bad ones. You can refer to Fatwa 82578 for the evidence of that fact.
Please also refer to Fataawa 89025, 7460 and 19648. We have clarified in that last Fatwa that affirming the divine predetermination does not negate the fact that every human being is responsible for his actions.
Early and contemporary scholars have elaborated on this issue in the context of Qadar (predetermination) in their writings on ‘Aqeedah (Islamic creed) or Sunnah. For instance, you may refer to the book Khalq Af‘aal Al-‘Ibaad by Al-Bukhari and Sharh Al-‘Aqeedah At-Tahaawiyyah by the Hanafi scholar Ibn Abi Al-‘Izz.
