I memorize the whole Noble Quran; all praise be to Allaah, the Exalted, but I have a huge problem. I have sexual inclinations towards young men who are too young to have beards and the practice of sodomy. I have tried more than once to give up such sins but, each time, I fail and re-commit them. Please note that I am poor and I cannot afford to get married. Please help me and guide me concerning this problem.
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
We ask Allaah, the Exalted, the Lord of the Throne, to guide your heart, relieve your distress, and guard us and you against the devil and his whisperings. Dear brother, you should know that having sexual inclinations toward beardless young men and practicing sodomy are counted among the most grave sins and hideous vices and are indicative of the meanness of character. The Noble Quran that you memorize should have driven you away from inclining to such sins, if you are really sincere with Allaah, the Exalted. Dear brother, saying that you have tried to give up this sin but failed is from the whisperings of the devil. He wants to weaken your determination and dishearten you in order to defeat you. You should seek refuge with Allaah, the Exalted, and supplicate Him to save you from this evil. You should also keep the company of righteous people and stay away from the evil-enjoining environment that invites or reminds you of this sin. If you can take a loan in order to get married, you should do so. If you cannot, then you should observe fasting as it is a shield for you against these evils. You should also remember that you will be held accountable before Allaah, the Exalted, so prepare your answer in such a serious and horrible moment, when He will ask you, "Why did you do that, my slave?"
Allaah Knows best.
