Assalaamu alaykum! My husband was talking to me while I was reciting the Quran. He recited, "Wa ma alayna illal balaagh." I am not sure what he said next, but he said something like balaagh and blog sound similar, I am not sure whether he recited the verse again replacing blog for balaagh. I do not remember the whole conversation too well to say with certainty that he recited the verse again with the replaced word. I remember some following conversation when he said, "Does it not mean that we have conveyed (the message) clearly and do the bloggers not do that in a sense that they say what they think is right and irrespective of what people think?" Then he asked whether it was wrong? I did not answer him, but I have doubts and worry if this has nullified his faith, and he is short tempered, so I am a little scared to ask for clarification lest he says something really disrespectful as he gets angry. Your advice will be much appreciated. May Allaah reward you.
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
Our advice to you is to disregard this matter and to stop thinking about it any further. Getting carried away with it may cause evil consequences. The basic principle is that your husband's faith and affiliation to Islam are established, and he cannot be declared otherwise except with certainty. We hope that you and your husband would cooperate and help one another in carrying out good deeds and seeking Islamic knowledge.
Allaah knows best.
