Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

You should know that if you turn to Allah, The Exalted, and sincerely repent to him, He will accept your repentance, regardless of the gravity of your sin. Allah, The Exalted, does not forgive Shirk (associating partners with Him) if a person dies while persistently adhering to it. As for the one who repents to Allah of Shirk and returns to Him, he will be forgiven, Allah Willing. He Says (what means): {Say, “O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He Who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.”} [Quran 39:53] The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: “The person who repents from sin is like the one who has no sin.” [Ibn Maajah] Therefore, you should hasten to sincere repentance, proclaim the Shahaadah (the two testimonies of faith), perform Ghusl (ritual bath), display steadfastness in adhering to Islam, erase your sins by doing as much good deeds as you can, and perform acts of obedience in abundance because good deeds wipe out evil ones. We ask Allah to guide you to sincere repentance.

Allah Knows best.
