Question
Is it okay to cover your head in a way nuns do
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
Since covering the head in this way is specific to non-Muslim women, then it is not permissible for a Muslim woman to do that, because this is imitating them.
Imitating non-Muslims is forbidden as indicated by the explicit and authentic texts as in the saying of the Prophet : “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.” [Ahmad and Abu Daawood]
Ibn Taymiyyah 
said: “Its chain of transmission (narration) is good.”
