As Salaamu Alaikum Wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu. Is it permissible to use derma roller to promote hair growth on head and beard and it also helps in getting rid of wrinkles etc INSHALLAAH .
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
First of all, the so-called derma roller – as far as we know – is a tool similar to a brush and has a head that contains tight rows of fine needles that cover it, whose length and thickness varies from one tool to another, and the head of the tool usually contains between 100 to 1000 fine needles.
The user passes the tool on the area to be treated, and when the head containing the micro-needles is passed over the skin, these needles penetrate the skin to a certain depth to help break up the scar tissue and help to renew it. The body then begins to produce new cells and large amounts of collagen and elastin in the area on which this tool was passed. One of its benefits as we know is that it enhances blood flow in the scalp, stimulates hair re-growth and combats hair loss, and it stimulates the production of hormones necessary to strengthen hair follicles and produces new hair, and also enhances the absorption of nutrients in the scalp to accelerate hair growth and strengthen and nourish its follicles. They mentioned other benefits as well as some disadvantages which may be caused in some cases to some people.
If this is the case, then the basic principle is that it is permissible to use it. The basic principle in the field of medication is that it is permissible, not prohibited, but it is necessary to consult a dermatologist before using it. If the dermatologist says that it does not cause any harm on its user, then there is no harm in using it.
