Sheikh when I sin I regret it but I cannot fulfil the condition of not going back to the sin kindly advise
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
We begin by asking Allah, the Almighty, to accept your repentance and to protect you from sins, whether committed openly or secretly. Indeed, He is All-Hearing, Ever-Responsive.
If you happen to fall into sin, hasten to repent to Allah sincerely, fulfilling all the conditions of sincere repentance: giving up the sin, feeling genuine remorse for having committed it, and firmly resolving not to return to it again.
If a person repents sincerely, and then the devil tempts him again and he falls into the same sin, he should renew his repentance and increase in doing good deeds. By doing so, if Allah wills, his sins will be forgiven. Every time he repents sincerely, his repentance is accepted, even if he later falls back into the sin. What matters is that his repentance meets the required conditions.
One of those conditions is that at the time of repenting, he must not intend to return to the sin, even after some time. That is because Allah accepts the repentance of the one who returns to Him sincerely; as He says in the Quran: {And it is He who accepts repentance from His servants.} [Quran 42: 25]
And He also says: {Say, ‘O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.’} [Quran 39: 53]
Imam An-Nawawi said in his commentary on Sahih Muslim: “Even if a sin is repeated a hundred times, or a thousand, or more, and one repents after each time, his repentance will be accepted and his sins will be erased.” [End quote]
So strive to avoid whatever may lead you to sin. Increase your supplications and seek refuge in Allah, asking Him to purify your body parts from disobedience. Reflect on the consequences of sin, including the wrath of Allah and the punishment it brings in this life and the Hereafter.
Allah knows best.
