Question
When I am in my house I feel very depressed and annoyed. The back of my head feels heavy when I want to sleep. I also feel that I have slept for ages when in fact I may have slept very little, but when I leave my house, I sleep well and I feel relaxed. I think that the cause is an evil eye or a spell. In order to treat this, I have recited the chapters Al-Baqarah, Al-Mu‘awwithataan (chapters Al-Falaq and An-Naas) from time to time and listened to a tape of Ruqyah (healing with the Quran) but there has been no improvement in my condition. Please help me.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
The first thing that a person who is under a spell or possessed by a Jinn should do is to seek refuge with Allaah the Exalted and put his complete trust in Him, since this is the strongest factor in weakening the influence of the Jinn or the spell in preparation for getting rid of that influence completely.
Then such a person should frequently recite the Quran and recite Athkaar (remembrance), particularly the morning and the evening ones, the bedtime ones, the ones for leaving and entering the house, before eating and upon completing the meal, etc.
Ruqyah should also be performed (to read some Quranic verses and prophetic supplication), and recite the Chapter Al-Baqarah in the house repeatedly, since it expels the devil from the house, as is mentioned in the authentic Hadeeth that is narrated by Imaam Muslim, on the authority of Abu Hurayrah 
.
In addition, it is very important to purify the house from anything that makes the devil stay and the angels leave, such as the pictures, statues, songs and dogs. You also should know that obedience to Allaah the Almighty is the reason for His support, with him. In addition, it is very important to purify the house from anything that makes Satan stay and the angels leave, such as pictures, statues, songs and dogs. You should also know that obedience to Allaah The Almighty is the reason for his support, while disobedience makes Satan dominate a person, removes happiness and causes calamity to befall him.
If you do all these things without any improvement, then change your house for some time; if this makes you feel better, do not return to your house since it seems that the evil is in the house itself.
