Question
I would like to know why most of the people in hell will be female, according to Hadith.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
Ibn ‘Umar 
narrated that the Prophet said: “O women! Give alms and seek forgiveness as much as you can, as I have seen that the majority of the dwellers of Hellfire were you (women).” An intelligent woman amongst them asked, “O Prophet of Allah! Why is it that we are the majority of the people of Hellfire?” He replied, “O women! You curse so frequently and you are ungrateful to your husbands.” [Muslim] The same Hadeeth was narrated by Abu Sa’eed Al-khudri and reported by Al-Bukhari 
.
The Prophet clarified that the women are the majority of the people of Hellfire because of them cursing so frequently, which is their statement “O, Allah curse on so and so…” or “such and such person is cursed.”, because the curse means driving the person away from the Mercy of Allah. It is prohibited to drive someone away from the Mercy of Allah without absolutely knowing his end of life or without certainly knowing his situation. It is for this reason that the scholars said that it is not permissible to curse a particular person, whether he is a Muslim or a non-Muslim, or even an animal. Also, it is due to them being ungrateful to their husbands.
