Question
How do you check the halal food among the commodities coming from different countries? Can you also name the so-called additives that are haram but are added to the foodstuffs that every Muslim must be careful of and avoid.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
As for food additives, you are allowed to add any of them to your food except what is forbidden or known to cause harm.
The Prophet said: “There should be no harm nor reciprocal harm.”
