I work in resturant delivering pizza to the home of customers. Somtimes it will be pizza with pigmeat. Is it Halal for me to deliver such food?
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that none is worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is His slave and messenger.
The ruling in regard to your question about working in a restaurant that serves pork or any other forbidden goods is based upon one of two considerations. Firstly, if a person serves these goods himself, then this is forbidden as it is helping others in sin and transgression.
Allah Says (what means): {…but do not cooperate in sin and aggression.} [Quran 5:2]
Secondly, if the job is limited to performing only lawful work such as serving lawful food in this restaurant; then, in this case, his work is lawful. However, we believe that it is safer for the Muslim who wants to protect his religion and dignity to purify his own self as well as money from doubtful things and hence avoid being in doubtful matters. One should, as in this case, try his best to get a job away from anything that could be unlawful.
An-Nu’maan Ibn Bashir said: “I heard the Prophet saying: “That which is lawful is clear and that which is unlawful is clear, and between the two of them are doubtful matters about which many people do not know. Thus he who avoids doubtful matters clears himself in regard to his religion and his honor, but he who falls into doubtful matters (eventually) falls into that which is unlawful, like the shepherd who pastures around a sanctuary, all but grazing therein. Truly, every king has a sanctuary, and truly the sanctuary of Allah is His prohibitions. Truly in the body there is a morsel of flesh, which, if it is sound, all the body is sound, and if it is diseased, all the body is diseased. Truly, it is the heart.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
