Question
Could you show me the way how to obtain steadfastness (Istiqamah)?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
Dear brother, we ask Allah to bless you and us to follow his religion. Know that (Istiqamah) straightness means adhering to the right path and sparing no efforts to cling to the rules of Sharia in all matters of life. Moreover, all orders of Allah should be put in practice avoiding all of His Prohibitions. One can get steadfastness by the Grace and Blessings of Allah. So, one should make Du'a to Allah to grant this great favor. In addition, one should consider every means, which will assist him to be steadfast in his life. So, Dear brother, seek refuge with Allah, ask Him to bless you and guide you to the right path and supplicate Him as much as possible to help you to be steadfast in your life. Try your best to do only good deeds, avoiding all evils; surely Allah will help you. Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {As for those who strive hard in Us (Our Cause), We will surely guide them to Our Paths (i.e. Allâh's Religion - Islâmic Monotheism). And verily, Allâh is with the Muhsinûn (good doers).}[29:69]. Allah knows best.
