After my wife and I got married we lost any desire to have sex, to the extent that we have had no sexual intercourse until now. I sought medical treatment but the doctors said that I do not suffer from any disease. I also went to see some Shaykhs and they told me that they cured my wife of the possession of two Jinns and cured me of one, however nothing has changed. Now my wife hates all men, including me, and she even hates sexual intercourse itself.
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
You should explain to your wife that this problem happens to some people and it is curable, if Allaah the Almighty wills. This problem is known as Ar-Rabt and it is a work of sorcery that prevents a husband from having sexual intercourse with his wife, causing him to hate her or vice versa. In some cases, the husband may lose his sexual ability completely.
Consequently, you both should seek a cure with the intention of pleasing Allaah the Almighty. Also, you should keep in mind that neither you nor your wife have anything to do with this problem; rather it is a test from Allaah the Exalted and it requires you to be patient and to perform acts of worship, especially the Thikr (mentionings of Allaah morning and evening, before sleeping, for leaving and entering the house, before and after eating, etc.) and reciting the chapter of Al-Baqarah in the house every three nights.
Moreover, Shaykh Ibn Baaz mentioned a way to cure Ar-Rabt, by the will of Allaah the Almighty:
A person should take seven green leaves from a Lote tree, grind them, put them in a pot, and pour water over them (the water should be enough to take a shower). Then the person should recite the following verses over the water:
- The verse of Al-Kursi [Quran 2:255]
- The chapter of Al-Kaafiroon [Quran 109]
- The chapter of Al-Ikhlaas [Quran 112]
- The chapter of Al-Falaq [Quran 113]
- The chapter of An-Naas [Quran 114]
- The verses on sorcery in which Allaah the Almighty Says (what means):
• {And We inspired to Moses, "Throw your staff," and at once it devoured what they were falsifying. So the truth was established, and abolished was what they were doing.} [Quran 7:117, 118]
• {And Pharaoh said, "Bring to me every learned magician." So when the magicians came, Moses said to them, "Throw down whatever you will throw." And when they had thrown, Moses said, "What you have brought is [only] magic. Indeed, Allah will expose its worthlessness. Indeed, Allah does not amend the work of corrupters.} [Quran 10:79-82]
• {They said, "O Moses, either you throw or we will be the first to throw." He said, "Rather, you throw." And suddenly their ropes and staffs seemed to him from their magic that they were moving [like snakes]. And he sensed within himself apprehension, did Moses. Allah said, "Fear not. Indeed, it is you who are superior. And throw what is in your right hand; it will swallow up what they have crafted. What they have crafted is but the trick of a magician, and the magician will not succeed wherever he is."} [Quran 20:65-69]
After reciting these verses over the water, the person should drink three times from the water and have a shower with the rest. Having done this, the sorcery will be terminated, if Allaah wills. This may be repeated again two times or more, if necessary, until the problem ends completely.
Ibn Hajar reported that Wahb ibn Munabbih said that some people also recite the Chapter of Al-Jinn [Quran 72] in addition to the mentioned verses and chapters. In your case, both you and your wife should do this.
Finally, we warn you against going to sorcerers or to those who perform magic, but there is no harm in going to see a righteous and upright man to seek Sharee‘ah-proven treatment.
