Are prayers during Ramadan better for women at home or in mosques?
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the World; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
It is better for women to pray in their houses than to attend congregational prayers at mosque. The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: "It is better for a woman to pray in her inner room than to pray in the house yard, and praying at her private room is better than praying at the inner room" [ Abu Dawood and others].
Another Hadith needs: "Do not prevent the women from going to the mosques, although their houses are better for them" [ Abu Dawood ].
The above ruling is applied to the obligatory prayers. This means that it is with greater reason to cover the optional prayers as al-Taraweeh…
Allah knows best.
