Question
I am a young teenage Muslim who is doing her best to avoid all things that are considered Haraam. But some friends of mine has gotten me involved in a pre-marital affair with a non-Muslim. Along with that, many boys are asking me to involve myself in sexual relations with them, but I refused. What should I do so that I can avoid these different things that are Haraam?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
We supplicate Allaah to protect you from evil and bad company.
Dear sister, it is strictly forbidden in Islam to mix with marriageable men or to have relations or friendship with them. So you have to cut all your contacts with them immediately. For details refer to our previous Fatwa: 84281.
We advise you to get rid of the friendship of those who lure you and entice you to commit sins. Those who tempt you to transgress Allaah's orders do not deserve to be your friends. Islam encourages one to befriend pious people and forbids befriending bad ones. For details read Fataawa: 84845, 85477 and 85277.
Know that studying in a mixed school is not allowed in Islam as we mentioned in our Fatwa: 82730.
