Question
Did Prophet Muhammad have any brothers or sisters?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
The books about the biography and narrations of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, stated the names of his brothers and sisters by suckling relationship. He had from his suckling mother, Haleemah As-Sa'diyyah, his sister, Shaymaa' bint Al-Haarith ibn 'Abdul-'Uzza, and her brother, 'Abdur-Rahmaan ibn Al-Haarith, and her sister, Aneesah bint Al-Haarith. So these are his brothers and sisters by suckling relationship from his suckling mother, Haleemah As-Sa'diyyah. His uncle, Hamzah ibn 'Abdul-Muttalib, and Abu Salamah ibn 'Abdul-Assad 
are also his suckling brothers from Thuwaybah, who was a slave-girl of Abu Lahab, the uncle of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam.
