Fatwa CenterDealing with jealousy from others, and failure to pray Fajr prayer
Question
I have two questions:
1) Some of my far relatives and friends have the inside illness that they don't want me to have wealth that Allaah gave me for example when they see me living happy life with money, inside their heart they wish that I will not have any money, they wish that one day I will be poor they are jealous that I have much more money then them, my question is that a sin to Allaah Almighty and is it a big sin I mean Haraam, secondly can my wealth disappear because of their bad heart for me. And tell me if I were to advice a friend who has this illness inside him what I should tell him to get rid of this illness.
2) Many times I miss Fajr prayer should I still pray the remaining prayers of the day, or if you miss one prayer of the day then no need to pray the rest because our lord told us to pray five, so if I miss one should I still pray the four.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
There is no doubt that envy is a great sin that necessitates repentance to Allaah. We have previously issued many Fataawa in relation to envy and methods of its treatment, so please refer to Fatwa: 88768 which gives details and includes advice for the envier and the envied.
However, we would like to draw the attention of the questioner that a Muslim should be cautious of suspecting that others envy him or doubt them, as he could be wrong. Allaah says (which means): {O you who believe! Avoid much suspicion, indeed some suspicions are sins.}[Qur'an 49:12]. Moreover, the Prophet 
said: "Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the worst of false tales." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
As regards whoever misses to pray Fajr prayer at its prescribed time, whether or not he has to pray the remaining prayers on that day, then the answer is that whoever misses to pray Fajr prayer at its prescribed time, he has to make it up even after the expiry of its time and then has to pray the remaining prayers. The Prophet said: "Whoever sleeps and misses a prayer or forgets to pray it, should pray it as soon as he remembers it." Then he has to pray all the five prayers at their prescribed time and it is forbidden to be lazy in performing these prayers or neglect performing them until their time has expired. Allaah says (which means): {Guard strictly the five obligatory prayers, especially the middle prayer (i.e. the best prayer 'Asr). And stand before Allaah with obedience [and do not speak to others during the prayers].}[Qur'an 2:238]. Allaah warned those who delay prayers from their prescribed time, as He says (which means): {Then, there has succeeded them a posterity who have given up the prayers to be lost, either (by not offering them perfectly or by not offering them in their fixed times) and have followed lusts. So they will be thrown in Hell.}[Qur'an 19:59]. Allaah further says (which means): {So woe to the worshippers Who delay their Prayers from their stated fixed times.}[Qur'an 107:5-6].
Therefore, it is an obligation to perform the prayers at their prescribed fixed times and if one misses performing a prayer on time, then he has to make it up and perform other prayers and not neglect them. It is not correct to say that whoever misses one prayer, can neglect other prayers. For more benefit, please refer to Fatwa: 88132.
