Asalamu alaykom. If things are done for other than the sake of Allah, will we be punished? For example, if someone performs salah and does it to show off to try to impress people, will he have to repeat all his prayers as they weren’t for the right intention? Is there anything like a dua we can do to help keep our intentions pure? Please advise and.. More
It’s very hard to find a job that doesn’t include haram aspects, except for jobs in Islamic companies/institutions/schools. The problem is when I find jobs in those places, my main intention is to have a halal income (in addition, sometimes I also just like the job because it suits my skillset/interests). If that’s the case, will it be counted.. More
I know that in islam actions are by intentions, so in that case, is it permissible to "show off" good deed for a good purpose? For example, let's say you are surrounded by people who are proud of their sins and negatively influencing others, is it ok to try to counter it by "showing off" your acts of worship so people will not feel like no body is practicing.. With regards to permissible actions such as eating, drinking, studying wordly sciences and so on, I know that in order to turn them into acts of worship you must have the correct intention e.g. you can intend by eating to gain strength to worship Allaah. If I stay away from haraam, so for example, if I don't go to a mixed gathering because I know it is haraam, but I don't have the specific intention of pleasing Allaah by staying away from it, would I be rewarded for it?
